What is sports massage?

Sports massage has a fundamentally different approach from all other forms of massage. A far deeper massage it is designed to assist in correcting imbalances and problems in soft tissue i.e. muscles tendons and ligaments often caused by repetitive strenuous physical activity or trauma. While other forms of massage have some aims in common with sports massage such as physical and mental relaxation, sports massage is specifically designed to help in sports or fitness activities.

Who benefits?

The answer is anyone from weekend sports player to Olympic athlete and non-sports people. You don’t have to participate in sport to receive and benefit from massage. As sports massage is more specific it can benefit anyone suffering from inhibited movement especially around the joints i.e. (check testimonial page Terry Thornes) Some people just don’t find normal massage deep enough to receive benefit from it so sports /deep tissue is for them.

Sports Massage

Sports Massage is one of my specialities and it's not just for athletes. Sports massage main function is to drain toxins from your muscles which will reduce and muscular swelling and tension, this will improve muscular flexibility and will reduce the risk of further injury. If you are an athlete sports massage is useful before and after trainer or competition, getting you back on the road to recovery.

Massage is a manipulation of the muscles and soft tissues of the body to reduce tension, stretch ligaments and tendons to keep them flexible, flush out toxins and promote balance in the body and mind.
